Pollinator Paradise

This garden was designed to be colorful, interesting year-round, and a haven for wildlife. It also needed to be drought resistant and compatible with deer and rabbit visitors. It is a difficult site because the soil is shallow over sandstone. We used plants that would enjoy and thrive in those conditions. The pollinators are attracted to all the flowers friendly to bees, hoverflies, and hummingbirds. Along with the native insect pollinators the garden attracts numerous native birds, bats and sometimes we even see amphibians and garter snakes.
