How to protect broadleaf evergreens from root weevils?
I don’t use pesticides in my gardening so the best option is beneficial nematodes. Root Weevils can damage the roots and leaves of you plants like Rhododendrons, Camellia, Viburnum ect. You will know that you have them by the little notches in the leaves.
You can buy Beneficial nematodes at your local nursery and apply them when the soil is around 55 degrees or warmer. It is best to do when the soil is moist so spring time is good. You can also add them to the soil in the late summer or early fall once we have had some rain.
The Royal Horticultural Society has some great information on Biological controls https://www.rhs.org.uk/prevention-protection/biological-control-garden
